Canadian Geography Workshop Series

A Bit About (Liquid) Water

This workshop provides an overview of how the chemical and physical properties of water are reflected in our rivers, wetlands, lakes, and oceans. Topics discussed include the hydrologic cycle, stream flow and flooding, the movement of sediment by streams, aquatic ecology and water quality, wind-driven and thermohaline ocean circulation, tides, and coastal landforms. The workshop provides an introduction to both hydrology and oceanography.
